I m Glad my friend that some one had started to list his view regarding the burning issues.... the rising of the dam's height is stopped due non availability of rocks,... discussing the matter on community sites and on dining tables is not worth, it may not solve the problem ...rather to start thinking to conserve the water and the nature , by afforestation ....creating awareness on watershed technology.......moreover for drinking purpose nothing to worry because we had gone ahead than GOA now students r also enjoying wine so nothing to worry our administration will supply liquor door to door rather than water ...hahahaha

Very nice of you thing about crucial problem and valuable suggestions----I think After through discussions by all members the moderator may submit the demands to the concerned department to come out with a proper solutions once for all--- other wise every year the problem will be raised by one or the other members reaching no where------In my opinion dryness and receding of water level in danikari Dam may be due to global warming ---- morever it rained in the month of january 2012 also.rest next time----

The problem might be the siltation or any other geological changes after tsunami cracks in the rockbeds of the ,it should be rectified by the NHPC which is busy in other construction lines rather than concentrating in Hydel power constructions...

Thanks for vital informations --- in my opinion can we start reusing the water sources available in Gandhi park
after through filterations---- what about the Rutland projects ? One Dam constructed in the peak of chouldari ---Is it any use?
Morever due to boring in some places might led the Water table empty? I see in wells also in some places water level receding---- since British rule we are using water from Gandhi park and Dhanikari, no other sources-- populations incresed day by day , More Bars came out , more hotels more workshops, but sources of water at the same level.Curtails of Water effects one and all------------ In Future the Administrations may provide materils for harvesting Rain water.Rest next time .

Its time to come out of all these virtual discussions in the social community sites as all people used to gossip on the dining tables......it should be implemented on ground so that someone should get benefitted.....
1. Municipal Council and panchayats too should do Mandatory to have watershed plan in the map approval as per set back.
2. there is no water related law in our country as the mineral water plants are extracting a plencty of cusecs water per day with having high power motors....it should be restricted in residential areas and taxed heavily too....
3. i would like to clarify that Dams are constructed on valleys than peaks....the chouldhari dam is reserved for the MES and being utilised by the Brichgunj brigade......
4.gandhi park and lamba line reservoirs cannot fulfil the city needs ......
5. Dug wells are the best source to recharge the water table and the bore Wells should be immediately stopped by the Administration .......as it would create salt water intrusion in ground water if we will not stop boring then chennai like situation wille be there in future ...ultimately evacuation there is no alternate.....
6.Geo-physical Surveys should be started at this stage by the CGWB and GSI
7. boring may not recede the water table rather than salt water intrusion.
one more thing i would like to mention ...there is no public drinking water tap in the municipal/panchayat area one have to beg some drinking water /caryy by themselves enroute /purchase mineral water .....where is the public money ......
we are charging for toilets when used in closed rooms and free to spread dirt in open ...how could we improve the moral habits in our country........
rice is free in TN and AP but fertilizers are costly electricity is costly .....who needs the freee rice just provide the good ratesfro the farmers harvest ....
THINK ......THINK .....THINK SOMETHING DIFFERENT

After going through your block... my conclusiion is ........
the govt. machinery is not responsible for the water crisis it is duty of you political leaders to arrenge budget for the project. Andaman have a very rich area for sweet water but since a long time i leaved andaman in 1991 since then i have not noticed any action regarding water supply in andaman. If u compare with main land metro cities they suppy water after covering a long distance piping ie. 250 to 500 km long. It is very easy to supply water from Panchwati or the CFO Nala otherwise the Kalpong river . But the only thing need is honest mentality of the political leaders .... govt. employees are bound to do the same once the project is finalised by the Delhi Govt. after few activity of Your MLA .....? ( UR MLA IS JUST LIKE INDIAN PRESTIDENT) therefor i have ? on mla.
So u people choose a right one and give him conditions and the result willl be...... NO TEARS FOR WATER.
Have a good day.
