Permalink Reply by Raja Marudhavanan on November 20, 2009 at 19:57 Its a good thought. But why only Councillors and zilla members.why not MLA's and MP's.The thinking behind not having educational qualification mandatory for elected representatives was that the last Indian down the line should also have an Opurtunity to contest the Elections. But todays situation demands common sence and minimum education to derive work out of bureacrats. But Education is not the issue. The Issue is wrong people come into politics by way of muscle and money power. It is the fault of people who vote for them and educated people like us who have lot of things to write and speak but don't go to Vote.
