Andamani's of the World Unite !

As the Andaman Islands are far way from the mainland many students do not have access to quality coaching for Medical & Engineering Entrance Examinations.

However, Online Coaching can overcome this problem. What are your suggestions ?

bieng this far away from mainland there r three option...
1) go to gyan kendra for AIEEE & AIPMT caoching
2) apply for PGC (postal guidance course) from institutes like allen\brilliant\careerpoint
3) apply for online guidance \coaching...

among all these three option the first one dosen't hold any merit becoz students r unable to cross the 1000 rank in AIRankings ...so it is a waste..there is lack of study material...in these centres and students just get fooled around...
if we consider the second option that is the PGC then it is the best choice for students in these islands..since renowned institutes like allen provides courses like "joint test series " \MBBS plus courses for class 11 and 12 students ..in these courses the study material comes through courier/speed post and  hence there is almost no chance of the study mateial bieng stolen..also students can aplly for online test in these courses ..or for the test paper bieng delivered directly to home ..which need to be self evaluted /....according to me this the best for our andaman students because it basically feasible...and students get proper coaching

the third option is online coaching ....as mr dev kumar has said the speed of the internet is a big question mark...secondly the mentality of the students here is to ratafy( learn by rote)..and most unfortunate to say they will never be benefitted from online coaching....thirdly most of us students have to flunk school in order to match the timing given by the trainee institute...regarding the basic coaching as well as test ..and basically it is not feasible...another noatble fact is that none of the premier institutes give a full fledge online coaching programme..so the question also remains that were should the students actually approach to avail such a online circullum.....
The net is too slow even broadband-may be because of the absence IT giants in Andamans, hope  situation will improve in years to come after the completion of submarine cable form Digga beach via hut bay, Port Blair and Singapore.
Online Coaching is best suited for students in Andamans. The quality & success rate is  high....

Hi All,

As a student from portblair, i feel my batch mates have gone to the best schools in the world and if we can plan for this movement of coaching offline or online its great idea, bravo! then i can connect with my batchmates to do something better for Andaman. I from being andaman did go to BITS Pilani, IIMK (Executive) and writing a case study book will be published next year with my iimk prof, nothing is impossible for us, lets talk to the concerned people and try to make difference :)

Cheers!

Hi Dev,

Please let me know what us required because Andaman kids don't get exposure, lets make it happen :)

Hi ,

I had a taste of online coaching and it can be effective with the help of good teachers and good networks .

But as Samayita madam was asking , reg the exposure , i feel the following things ..

- Students should be more exposed to other career options (apart from eng and medical) like journalism , mass media , food processing, micro biology , etc.. , and this should not be limited to the elite schools , it should be done in all the levels

- For increasing the exposure level to the extra and co curricular activities , big events like - interschool cultural and lit events , technical festivals , youth congress can be conducted ( in levels which are conducted in other areas of country)

The Remoteness of Andamans can be overcome by Online Entrance Coaching by sites like http://www.entrancewisdom.com .
